Spaceslug -Leftovers Discovered Thru Music Listening Expansion!

So when I have looked over my recently played  on Spotify over the last couple of weeks I am confusedThe reason is that none of the music looks familiar. You ask – how come?

Let’s pretend you asked me.  My answer would never because I’ve been exploring. In some cases I have been listening to some different genres. While in other cases I’ve listened to different subgenres. The different genres include some EDM with a psychedelic bent. While the subgenres include Desert Rock and Space Rock.

As a result, in the section of the Spotify were they list different bands that are similar to band X I see a lot of bands I am I familiar with (remember I’m 69 years old). For example listed under More Like: Vinnum Sabbathi was a band called Spaceslug. The album show  was Lemanis their 2016 release. The album looked interesting at least based on the album cover. Yes, I still do judge albums by their covers!

Anyway, I went to their overview page and saw their latest release was titled Leftovers. I decided to give that one listen. I enjoyed the album! Here’s what I discovered about Spaceslug.

 Spaceslug are a Kozmik Doom power trio based out of Wroclaw, Poland. Their music is a blend of  stoner metal, doom metal and space rock, drawing from space, time and multiverse theory.

The band  has  released three albums among other releases and have toured throughout Europe.

Spaceslug would form in June 2015 by guitarist Bartosz Janik and drummer Kamil Ziółkowski, following with bassist Jan Rutka joining. Four months after the band would form work would begin on a debut album, recording at Odbiornik Studio. The end result would be the band’s debut album Lemanis, released 6 February 2016 to positive reviews. Read More

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is Leftovers was an interesting and enjoyable album that will be in my music rotation for a while. So check it out! As for me, I will be listening to Lemanis and other albums in their back catalog.
