25 Books Read in 2016 That Are Part of a Great Series
2016 has been another great reading year! My goal was to read 60 books and while I will probably fall about 7 or 8 books short of that goal, I will have read more books than last year. All total I will probably read 52 or 53 books. Of those 50 some books, around 30 are mysteries or thrillers.
Of those 30 mysteries 25 of the books a part of series. Most are from series that I have been a fan of for years. These include: Carol O’Connell‘s Mallory series, Harlan Coben‘s Myron Bolitar, Karin Slaughter’s Will Trent and William Kent Krueger‘s Cork O’Conner series With the exception of the Will Trent series, all these series are greater than 10 books in length!
The Second Life of Nick Mason is a new series from Steve Hamilton.Hamilton’s Alex McKnight series has been a favorite for years. Likewise, Orphan X from Gregg Hurwitz begins a new series featuring Evan Smoak!
Four of the books were written by authors whose books are new to me. The books from Mike Brooks’ Dark Run and Mark Henshaw’s Red Cell begin the Keiko and Kyra Strickland and Jonathan Brooke series respectively. While The Forgotten Room from Lincoln Child and Borkman’s Point by Hakan Nesser and Entombed from Linda Fairstein are books earlier in their respective series.
