Hello Welcome to the New and Revised EdK’s Life Safari, I am Ed K aka Edward Karn. This blog had a former life as Finding Out! Discovering and learning is one of the things that I like to do.
I have been lost in the blog Universe for over six years now. I have created a veritable plethora of blogs. Including: Me, Myself, Music and Mysteries, FreeWheelin’ Music Safari, Socialstudious and Renaissance Granddad.
The Main Topics of My Blogs
The blogs that I have created have centered around four main topics.
Books – when I first started to blog one of the reasons I did so was to be able to write more about the books that I was reading, than I could fit in a Facebook update
Music – I am also an avid music fan, My original intent when I started my first blog was to write about the music that I traditionally listened to. That music can generally be called Americana. Americana includes: folk, bluegrass, blues and other roots type music.
Social Studies – I know that a broad topic, but I have two college degrees. The first is a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida with a major in Political Science and the second a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia with a concentration in Secondary Social Science Education. So as a political science major and secondary social science prospective teacher I have an interest in the social sciences particularly politics and history.
Health and Fitness- For most of my life I have been a runner. First in high school and later just as a jogger, I became a more dedicated runner in my 40s and have run consistently since then. Lately though I have not been running and I am finding it hard to get back in the groove.
I also have done Hatha and Kundalini yoga and am a strong proponent of the benefits of yoga!!
As I have aged, I have come to the realization that many of the things I do as far as health and fitness go are done to help turn back my biologic clock. The need for the has become more apparent with the arrival of our two grandchildren Zoe and Oliver within the last two years
The Development of My Blogs
Ok so all of the topics led to my first blog Me, Myself, Music and Mysteries. As the years past., I thought that maybe not all people like all the topics that I write about so I created a separate blog for my music listening, which had expanded to include NewAge, Jazz ans Prog Rock . The blog was FreeWheelin’ Music Safari. I also created a separate book blog – Book-Ed and one for the granddad in me Renaissance Granddad.
A while back I had changed the name of my blog Finding Out, which I hadn’t posted to in a long while to Ed K’s Life Safari. The other day after visiting another blog which had tied together several blogs I thought okay, I should do something like that.
Here’s the plan…..
.Ed K’s Life Safari will be the base camp for my blog. It’s topics will mostly be related to social studies. My music explorations will be written about in FreeWheelin’ Music Safari. While books will be covered in Ed K’s Book Safari. Finally, my attempts to turn back my biologic clock and writing about my family will be done at Renaissance Granddad!!
As I rework my sites, I am trying to come up with new categories that will better group posts. That people way can more easily find posts that interest them.The organization of my various site will be an ongoing project over the next several months. So keep checking in!! I also intend to tell you more about me in future posts….
