Sometimes an album just strikes the right chord with you! Such is the case with The Cage the new release from U.K. master sound manipulator and musical space-shaper Bob Holroyd. The first time I listened to the album, I knew it was for me. Subsequently it has been the soundtrack for my morning yoga and meditations. And every time I listen to it I hear something new!
Azul – Johannes LinsteadAzul, the latest release from World Fusion guitarist Johannes Linstead. It has also been in my music rotation for a month or two. I believe I like more and more every time I listen to it. And the New Age music world appears to agree. The album is now number two on the Zone Music Repoter’s Top 100 Radio AirPlay Chart.
I do believe, two of the albums that have been in my music rotation for a few weeks. Now highlight my eclectic taste in music. One is the latest from jazz saxophonist Vincent Herring, while the other is from a bluegrass band Trout Steak Revival. While I don’t think I am alone with my live for both these genres of music, I would think I am in the minority.
Anyway here is my take on the first of these two albums.
Yesterday morning I started my day with a 30-minute meditation. The soundtrack for the meditation was Weightless (Ambient Transmissions Vol 2) from the Ambient New Age band Marconi Union. According to their website Marconi Union….
Over the last few non-work days I have altered my morning routine a little ,well maybe quite a bit. I have started to begin my morning with a 30 minute meditation. Followed by my morning exercise. Yesterday I began with a nice quiet meditation. The soundtrack was the new solo piano album from Ann Sweeten Flying Solo Silhouette. Now I will admit that I do not know that much about Ms. Sweeten. I do know though that many times when I have the Spa station on Sirius XM radio during my morning yoga routines, I will hear something that I like and when I turn to the radio to see who the artist is, it is Ann Sweeten.
