One of the albums that has been in my rotation for a couple of weeks now is the latest release from Umphrey’s McGee 
Similar Skin. Umprhey’s McGee is a crossover prog band with a large following known alternately as “Umphreaks” and “McGeeks. Here’s what they say on their website about the band…..

I don’t know whether my son Andew is a Umphreak or a McGeek, but I do know he has seen them at two shows on one night in Philly. I think it was if you went to one show, you got into the other show free! Anyway according to Andrew, who really likes this album this is their “rock” album. He says that each of the last several albums was a little different one was a pop album and another a ????? I forget.(Andrew or any other Umphreak, help me out here, tell me what I forgot) Here’s what band member says about the making of Similar Skin.….
Bassist Ryan Stasik tells Billboard that the direction for Umphrey’s eighth studio release “Similar Skin” — first since 2011′s “Death By Stereo” — “kind of happened organically, really. We got together in the studio in Michigan and wrote some new songs together, and everything people were bringing to the table had the same vibe. We were all in the same headspace of rock ‘n’ roll. It was a little progressive, a little heavy, a little pop, a little everything — but still rock ‘n’ roll. Our last record was a little all over the place, but this seems very focused and where our roots are.” Read More
Anyway I have been enjoying this album. There are a lot of great tracks on the album. Here’s one of my favorites “Cut the Cable”……
