Ana Popovic – Can You Stand the Heat

Today I traveled over the Burlington-Bristol Bridge and out Street Road to the Costco in Warminster,Pa. The reason I traveled all that way today was to see about getting new hearing aids! Why go to Costco? – well their cost for hearing aids is one-half price of their competitors! I will be getting two aids for less than the price I paid for one! Not only do I get a great deal but it’s from a company that pays their employees a decent wage and makes money!! The soundtrack for the trip was the new album from Serbian born Ana Popovic, Can You Stand the Heat Now if you like some great guitar with your blues, who doesn’t then you can’t go wrong with Ana! As I reviewed her biography tonight at her website, I saw some interesting facts!

Ana was invited for the legendary ‘Blues Cruise 2006’ – She’s the first European artist ever called upon to play this prestigious cruise with their original band. In February Ana is nominated as ‘Blues Artist of the Year’ by the readers of ‘BluesWax Magazine’. Other nominees are Tab Beniot and Joe Bonamassa. In July Ana receives a 6-time nomination for the ‘Living blues awards 2006’. She’s selected in categories as; ‘Best blues DVD of 2005’, ‘Best Live Performer’, ‘Best Female Blues Artist’ and ‘Most Outstanding Musician (Guitar)

Together with her band she wins the prestigious jazz award ‘Jazz a Juan-Revelation 2004’ in Juan Le Pins, France. The award shows recognition of Ana’s abilities in the jazz genre – another strong influence on her music

Ana received a nomination at the prestigious WC Handy Awards in Memphis for Best New Artist of 2003 (the only continental European artist ever nominated in this category). Ana also becomes the first European artist to perform at the Show.

In 2012 she was nominates nominated for three Blues Music Awards from the Blues Foundation Contemporary Blues Female Artist Contemporary Blues Album (Unconditional) DVD Of The Year (An Evening at Trasimeno Lake) You can read all kinds of press here! 1. You get what you pay for, whether the company’s employees get good wages or not…

    • That’s true but I think that the question is can US company’s doing business in other countries make sure that the working conditions are safe and maybe help workers get a higher rate of pay, not as much as US workers , but enough to raise their standard of living, and still make a profit! I bet they can!
