Seven Favorite Songs in Seven Days….

Here are Seven Favorite Songs as Posted in Seven Days on Facebook

A couple of weeks ago, I was nominated by my wife to post seven favorite songs in seven days on Facebook. Here are the songs and my comments….

Day 1 -I’ve been nominated for the 7 songs in 7 days challenge by my wife Kathleen Karn The challenge is to post seven of your favorite songs in 7 days, and each day nominate someone else to do so.
Today I am nominate Eliot Kamenitz My college roommate and my best man at .our wedding!
So let’s go back to near the start of Kathy and my 40 plus years of togetherness and a song from the movie we saw on our first date McCabe and Mrs. Miller -“The Stranger Song” by Leonard Cohen . The song is still one of my favorites (Kathy is too!) Is there a better line in a song then “he was just some Joseph looking for a manger”?

Day 2 of the 7 songs in 7 days challenge as challenged by my wife Kathleen Karn The challenge is to post seven of your favorite songs in 7 days, and each day nominate someone else to do so.
Today I am nominating another old friend going way back to elementary school – Nancy Haller Cunningham.
So me trying to pick seven favorite songs is impossible the playlist that I’ve created at Spotify now has 28 songs and is growing. When Kathy first mentioned the challenge she said she knew what I’d pick and she quickly listed most of my favorites – so I’ve been trying to pick ones that may not be so obvious and this is one of the first ones that came to mind! On the CSN albums, many times I gravitate to the David Crosby songs and this is one of my favorites . His harmonies with Graham Nash are always fantastic!!

Now my choice for Day 4 of the 7 songs in 7 days challenge as challenged by my wife Kathleen Karn The challenge is to post seven of your favorite songs in 7 days, and each day nominate someone else,..today I nominate Casey Brennan who is a big Beatles fan so I know he knows good music!

Ok so I probably could fill all 7 days with songs from Jerry Jeff Walker but this is one of my favorites and i don’t know that my wife hates it! Anyway it’s another one with a pretty good video!! Let’s see we’ll finish out the week with Stoney, Mr Bojanlges and Gypsy Songman – nah just kidding!!

Day 5 of the 7 day favorite song challenge as challenged by wife Kathleen Karn. No one’s nominated since I’m catching up. Anyway here’s a favorite song “Birches” written by Bill Morrissey and performed by another favorite Mark Erelli. Once again the song features a really good video!!

Day 6 of the 7 day favorite song music challenge as challenged by my wife Kathleen Karn! This one goes out to all my fellow Jerseyians! and we do say the R in Jersey here in the southern part of the state!

Day 7 of the 7 songs in 7 songs as challenged by my wife Kathleen Karn. I’ll end with a song from one of our favorite artists Harry Chapin. Harry always ended a concert with this song and each time I hear it I wish that he could be coming around again! It was a few lifetimes ago that Kathleen Karn and Eliot Kamenitz saw Harry at the Great Southeast Music Hall in Atlanta!
