So this morning as I was looking at the people born on this date. I thought how badly you must feel every year, now, as you celebrate your birthday on this tragic date. I think I’d celebrate either the day before or the day after, or maybe you just say, hey it was my day before you ruined it!

Among the Jazz birthdays on September 9th was post-bop drummer Elvin Jones. Jones was born in 1927 and was best known for
his time with the John Coltrane Quartet. Jones was born in Pontiac, Michigan and was one of seven children of Henry and Olivia Jones. His family was very musical and his two older brothers Hank and Thad both became respected jazz musicians. Hank was a pianist and Thad played trumpet and coronet.
So I’ve recently been recapping the six books that I read in August. So far I’ve only written about two of the books. Well, today I finished my first book I have read in September and the 40th book I’ve read in 2020. Now, rather than not writing anything about books until I’m caught up writing about the books I read in August, I thought I’d write about book 40 while it’s still fresh in my memory!
36. The Last Odyssey (Sigma Force # 15) James Rollins
So this is the second of James Rollins’s Sigma Force thrillers I’ve read in 2020, While I was waiting for The Last Odyssey to become available from my library, I read The Bone Labyrinth, which had been on my TBR shelves for a long time. I’m actually glad I read The Bone Labyrinth recently because a character from that book makes a repeat appearance in The Last Odyssey. So everything that she was Involved in was still fresh in my memory!
For me, composing music is akin to magic. I neither know how it’s done, nor do I care. I just enjoy the ride and the end product! So it is safe to say I am in awe of Emergence San Francisco acoustic guitarist Lawrence Blatt’s latest release.
