:So today was a running day, I left about 8:15 knowing that would give me enough time to finish, take a shower and eat before 10:30 when I had to pick up granddaughter Zoe at school. The one thing that I didn’t remember was my wife had A doctor’s appointment at 10! One of the reasons that I forgot was that she was sick this morning and didn’t go to work.
Ok so this morning as I was writing my morning post I listened to Ann Sweeten’s 2016 release Where Butterflies Dance. It is a beautiful piano based album. I guess that album finished before I was done writing because when I went back to Spotify after finishing writing my post a different piano artist’s music was playing!
Tom Russell’s latest release Folk Hotel has been in my music rotation for a week or so now. And I like the album more and more each time I listen to it. There are few songwriters whose songs send me to Wikipedia to look up references as do Tom’s. As A matter of fact, I was sent scurrying on the first song “Up in the Old Hotel”. The first thing that I went to find out about was who was Joseph Mitchell, whose ghost wanders the halls of Tom’s Folk Hotel. Here’s what I found……
Over the last few non-work days I have altered my morning routine a little ,well maybe quite a bit. I have started to begin my morning with a 30 minute meditation. Followed by my morning exercise. Yesterday I began with a nice quiet meditation. The soundtrack was the new solo piano album from Ann Sweeten Flying Solo Silhouette. Now I will admit that I do not know that much about Ms. Sweeten. I do know though that many times when I have the Spa station on Sirius XM radio during my morning yoga routines, I will hear something that I like and when I turn to the radio to see who the artist is, it is Ann Sweeten.
Over the first eight days of September, I finished three books, bringing the total number of books I have read in 2017 to 41. Goodreads says that I am back on pace to read my projected goal of 60 books. The three books I finished are……
Ok so for a week in August I was in Ship Bottom on Long Beach Island in New Jersey. But for the rest of the month I was all over the place thanks to the five books that I read. Well actually only four of them took me someplace other than my own mind, which is where You are not Your Brain took me!
Over the last few weeks I have been checking Weather.com’s rating for going for a run. Considering the conditions, clear skies, low temperature and humidity I figured it would be a high rating. It was 8 out of 10. That was slightly lower than I thought it would be, but still great. No excuses if today’s run wasn’t a good one!
Ever since I read Suspect book one in the Joe O’Loughlin series from Michael Robotham I have been a fan. The Secrets She Keeps Robotham’s fourth stand alone novel only increased my love for his books. His three other stand alone books are The Night Ferry, Life or Death, and Bombproof. Bombproof is the only one of the four I have not read yet! Boo me!
