The First Run with a Hill! Music by Aton Five
So I will be writing about She Rides Shotgun the second book I’ve finished in 2019 shortly, but tonight I think I’ll just write about today’s run.
The Run – 4.25 Miles
Today I decided that I would do a short Cardio-Dance workout, The do some chores and run in the later morning early afternoon. Initially, I was thinking about running 5 to 6 miles. But late morning turned to later in the afternoon than I planned, I decided I would only run a 4.25 course. The course I chose was in I call Harper Loop and it is the only course that goes up the steepest hill in the area. So even though I wasn’t going as far as I planned, The course was more challenging. It became even more challenging I’ve rhte second half of the course when I was running into the wind!! That’s the main reason the last two miles were a struggle. Of course the fact that I ran the first mile too fast didn’t help those last miles either!!! Anyway here are the results….
Danish Space Rock from Causa Sui
Causa Sui – Return to Sky – Psychedelic/Space Rock-Denmark
So this morning I was looking for some music to start my day. I went to Spotify and then to Browse and My Discover selections. The second album among the ‘Top Recommendations for You’ was the album Return to Sky from the band Causa Sui. Having no idea about the band or the genre of music that they played, I gave them a try. What I heard was a pretty interesting instrumental band.!!
Psychedelic/Space Rock From Eloy Powers My Run!
Psychedelic/Space Rock from Germany’s Eloy Powers My Run!
So you know that you are listening to a progressive rock album, when you run for 30 plus minutes and when you are finished you are only on the sixth song on the album! Such was the case today, when music from the band Eloy became the soundtrack for my run. I had spent much of this morning exploring several prog bands. The bands that I explored included Sylvium from the Netherlands, and The Myrrors from Texas. I liked both of the bands. When I went to ProgArchives and read about The Myrrors, I discovered that they were classified as a Psychedelic/Space Rock band This is not the first time that I have liked a band within that subgenre., so I went to ProgArchives again, and this time I read about the Psychedelic/Space Rock sub-genre which has among its roots the music of Jimi Hendrix, and the Jefferson Airplane, particularly the live performances of these groups. Hum, guess that’s why I like this subgenre! Anyway, I thought I’d checked out a band or two. When I looked at the top albums of th Psychedelic/Space Rock sub-genre, the first four albums are from Pink Floyd, the fifth album is Ocean from Eloy. The album was released in 1977! From their biography at ProgArchives….
Psychedelic/Space Rock from Canada’s Greylevel – Hypostatic Union
Again this weekend Thursday through Sunday was a blur….Thursday I worked both jobs from 8:30 am to 11:30 PM, then got back up to be on a site 30 minutes from my home at 8 am! I worked until 12:00 then ran around getting ready for a wedding, drove to Avalon NJ a one hour forty minute drive, went to a wedding on the beach, attended the reception and drove him arriving back home at 11 PM. Saturday was a few errands and then work again from 5:30 to 11:30! Sunday Mother’s Day found us at my son Andrew’s home at 10:30 am for brunch and then in the afternoon we babysat our grandson until around 6:00 or so… it was great but by the time we got home this 62 year-old’s butt was dragging…. I’ve listened to some music over this time span, but can’t get my brain in gear to write about it!! Anyway, while I was looking for some music the other day I saw on the related artist list Greylevel and it reminded me that I had listened to them and liked them so here’s my post about them…. and you even get some running info something which you haven’t been getting, because I have avoided running… but have to start again soon!!
Life’s Soundtrack – Prog from Paris – The Black Noodle Project – Ready to Go!
So one way a band catches my attention is by their name. One band that caught my attention today through their name was the Black Noodle Project. I stumbled across the name at New Prog Rock Releases when I was searching for new music and once I saw the name I knew I had to check them out. The band released a new album Ghosts & Memories (you can watch a preview of the album here) on November 15th but I have yet to see that album at any music site like MOG or Spotify. I did find their 2011 release Ready to Go which I put on the iPhone. The album became part of yesterday’s soundtrack. It took a few tracks but with each track I thought, more and more “hey I like these guys: . and by the time arrived at “Ready to Go Part 2” I wanted to explore the rest of the band’s discography!! Here’s what I found out about the bans when I returned home…..from the Prog Archives.
