Goodwill Hunting Results in Vinyl and Stereo Musical Finds

PHello, my name is Edward and I am a Goodwill junkie! Over the last few years I have been addicted to shopping at Goodwill, and that addiction has grown worse over the last year. It has become worse because I have been collecting more vinyl from a variety of their stores .

Collectiong vinyl albums at Goodwill is not an easy chore. You have to wade through a ton of Ray Conniff  Singers,  Mantovani and Mitch Miller albums to find the good ones!

Basically, what I’ve been collecting has been folk music from the 60s and 70s, along with jazz from the same time period. My collection is growing nicely.

Recent Jazz Vinyl from Goodwill

Here’s a few of the jazz albums I’ve recently picked up.

Last Sunday, we visited the Stratford NJ store and the colors of the week were yellow and purple. That made any item whose labels matching those colors $1.00!

Here are the some of the albums I added to my collection. I had the Tapestry album on 8track year ago but never bought the album.  Kenny Baker is a great country fiddler and the Joan Baez album The First Ten Years is a double album. Oh, I also added these Smothers Brothers’ albums.

And a Vintage Fisher Stereo Receiver

Now that $ 1.00 price applies to any item! Last week I was also looking for a stereo receiver to use in my basement. Here’s what I found…..

It’s a Fisher 1985 FM stereo receiver with a turntable and tape decks. It was priced at 39,99 but had a yellow label, so I got it for a dollar! The tape decks don’t work but everything else does and it sounds great. A new needle is on its way!

I also have it hooked up so I can play from my phone into the auxililary input! And because it sounds so good. It may not go to the basement! LOL!

Anyway we’re returning to the Stratford store today. I can’t wait to see what the colors of the week will be and what I’ll find!
