Miss Zoe Celebrates Her First Birthday!

Mom and Dad Throw Zoe a Wonderful Rainbow Birthday Picnic….

So each time one of my children’s birthdays roll around I joke that I feel like another year older and it’s not even my birthday. Well this year with birthday celebrations for my grandchildren Zoe and Oliver the number of days per year that I feel another year older has soared to seven – if I include my own birthday!! Luckily, unlike a dog I still only age one year at a time and not seven!!

Yesterday we celebrated my granddaughter Zoe’s first birthday. Her birthday isn’t until the 17th, but yesterday worked out best for everybody. Since the party was an outside picnic, all morning my son Peter and his father-in-law Bill Marris watched the weather forecast. Two potential storms were approaching South Jersey, but as the two o’clock start of the party approached, the storms seemed to split with one storm  staying to the east and the other to the west, leaving our area for the most part dry!!

Here’s the nicely decorated presents table and a close-up of her birthday board! All of the decorations and special touches were made by Zoe’s talented mommy!

Zoe’s official attire for the day was a rainbow tutu made by her mom…..Zoe and Tutu
Soon it was time for Zoe to have her smash cake (also made by mommy)…. a several tiered rainbow cake that was just her size and she quietly explored the cake..Zoe Eplores her Cake
…..until Our Mr. Yang to Miss Yin showed her the correct way to eat a smash-cake.Zoe and Oliver with CakeSoon they were both enjoying the cake together…….next it was present time. One of the gifts that Elizabeth gave Zoe was a baby doll and a stroller….. actually it was a test to see if Zoe likes baby dolls, before getting her the more expensive American Dolls…..she loved her and knows just how to take care of her!

Near the end of the party Miss Zoe was given one of the party favors a water pistol, she immediately put the pistol in her mouth. This action led her Grammie’s mind to race right to a picture of her granddad with a pistol in his mouth……

Grammie says it must be genetic, but I do believe that Zoe’s genes are a little off – because I do believe she is holding the gun a little more sensibly – the handle not the barrel is in her mouth….!!

While I did have a good time at the party chasing Oliver, I didn’t get to spend much time with Zoe – but sometimes a few minutes is all you need…..

So all in all Miss Zoe was treated to a wonderful birthday party by her parents Peter and Missy!! Both are wonderful parents to a very special little girl!! I
