So a couple of weeks ago as I was looking for new music, I saw the name Pat Wictor on the Folk-DJ list and I listened briefly to some of his music and liked what I heard . Well, today I went to emusic and downloaded his new CD Living Ever-Lovin’ LIVE and I have a new artist to listen to! His Myspace page says that he is from Brooklyn, NY and his biography on the website site says he was raised outside of the United States until his teenage years, living in Venezuela, Holland, Norway, and England. Pat playing guitar and lap steel guitar plays an acoustic blues, Americana, roots mix and it sounds great to me and others too. Some quotes from his website:

“Living Ever-Lovin’ LIVE” is a collection of live performances recorded at various locations throughout 2009. On the album, Pat plays solo and with good friends including Abbie Gardner (of Red Molly) who plays dobro on several tracks.(you’ll hear more about her and her band mates shortly), Toby Walker, Stephanie Corby, David Glaser, and Carl Cacho. Some of the tracks that stood out on the first listen “I Don’t Know What She Knows”, “Make Room for You”, “Shake the Blues” and the Carl Cacho penned “Bordertown” . On the second listen as is typical for me, THEY ALL STOOD OUT!
I couldn’t pass this one up here’s Pat performing one of my favorite Phil Ochs songs “Changes”. So, if you’ve never heard Pat check him out! As for me I’m off to find his other four albums!
