So I made a trip to New Releases Now today and took a quick look at the new albums released today (March 23,2019). Among the albums released are three from artists who are favorites of mine. There are five more that I think I’ll also give a listen.
Here are the three from favorites…..
Carrie Newcomer / The Point Of Arrival
Many of Carrie Newcomer’s album are in my music library. I enjoy her voice and her songwriting is personal and impeccable. She literally puts her life into her music and music is her life! I certainly looking forward to listening to this new collection from her soul!
Ally Venable – Texas Honey
Unlike Carrie Newcomer Ally Venable is a newcomer ( pun not intended) to my music library. Actually when Ally’s debut album Puppet Show was released last year Ally was only 19 years old! That means I probably started listening to Carrie’s music before Ally was born!!
Ally is a dynamite guitarist and twice named Lone Star State female guitarist of the year. (2014 and 2015). You can check out what I wrote about Puppet Show here

RPWL/ Tales From Outer Space
For several years my second son Andrew would tell me whenever he came home from a Prog Rock festival that I should be listening to some of the artists he had just watched! The reason was that half of the audience around him were old “graybeards” like me.
RPWL is s neo prog rock band from Germany that was formed in 1997 as a Pink Floyd cover band. Three years after the band formed they started to make their own music. While their music was still rooted in the that 70s and 80s Pink Floyd Prog era their debut release God Has Failed met with positive reviews in most major progressive rock magazines. Since then the band has released five studio albums, three live albums and two DVDs! Full post about the album Wanted
