Nir Eyal’s Indistractable May Lead to More Posts

Once again I am apologising for not posting more! Last week I started a self-help book title indistractable: How to Control Your Attention and Chose Your Life. The title of the book written by Nir Eyal intrigued me because controlling my attention, something that I struggle with mightily. I actually believe that I have ADHD! Anyway I finished the book yesterday and I think I have picked up many good ideas that I can implement to improve my life.

One of those ideas is Timeblocking and this relates to my lack of posting. The other day while babysitting and my grandson Logan was sleeping I set out to time block my typical week, I made a discovery. Between babysitting, running, exercising and work at Target I have very little time between 6 am and 6 pm to write posts. It’s true that I do have time at night, but by that time if the day I am tired. Let alone that my mind works a lot better in the morning!!

Hopefully within the next few weeks, my daughter-in-law will settle into her new job and I will have set days that I know I will be babysitting and maybe which day or days I will be free. At that time, maybe I can time block set times to write posts. And using some of the techniques discussed in indistractable I can start posting on a more regular basis.

My Recent Reads

Since even though I haven’t been posting I have been reading some great books, listening to some fine music and running. Within the last week or two I have finished three books: The Last Widow (Will Trent #9) by Karin Slaughter, C.J. Box’s The Bitterroots the fourth  book featuring Cassie Dewell, and the aforementioned indistractable. And of course I have not written about any of them.  Maybe what I’ll do is try to write a post recapping all of my reads from late September through October.

Recent Musical Explorations

Musically, I have listened to some good music on my runs that I have not written about yet. Additionally, I have been listening to the nine jazz albums and two New Age albums that I bought on my last visit to The Princeton Record Exchange. As well as, a couple New Age albums I really like.

The bottom line Is I need to set a schedule and start writing posts! Wish Me Luck!

Now I’ll end this post with a track that started my run on Tuesday of this week, “I’m Running” from Rick Estrin and the Nightcats new album Contemporary, sounds like a song for a 68 year old runner doesn’t it?? Hopefully, I’ll be back soon!
