Another Attempt to Start Running Again with a Soundtrack from Kansas – The Prelude Implicit
So I had babysitting duties today with my granddaughter Zoe. Missy had to go to work earlier than usual so I had to be there by 7:30. The good thing about that was Missy got home a little after 3, which meant that I would be home by 3:30 or so and that meant there would be time to run today.
I haven’t run since I don’t know when, I just can’t seem to get motived to find the time. But Saturday I turned 65 and my wife asked if I needed new running shoes or was I not going to run anymore? Of course I am going to run again, I responded, probably a little unconvincingly.Anyway, this afternoon was a perfect time to start again, or at least make an attempt to start again. I have done that several times this year! But it does look like I will only have to babysit Zoe again on Wednesday this week. So I should be off on Friday to run again.
The Run
Anyway, I did get myself out that door and on the road about an hour after I got home. My plan was to run about 2 miles, which I figured would take a little over 22 minutes or so. I of course started a little too fast over the first 1/4 mile and had to slow way down. I completed the first mile in 11:14. Rather than just turn around and make it a 2 mile run, I decided to go a little farther.before I headed back.
I made it back home all be it rather slowly. The average pace for the second mile was 12:05. With that bit that I ran beyond the first mile added about .32 miles to the run. I covered that last .32 miles with an average speedy pace of 12:28. The total run was 2.32 miles which was covered at an average pace of 11:46. which actually wasn’t all that bad! Now comes that hard part making sure that I do it again on Thursday or Friday!!

The soundtrack of the run was the latest album from a band that started out in the 1970s Kansas. Now I will admit I don’t know that much about Kansas beyond “Dust in the Wind” and :”Carry on Wayward Son” During the 40 plus years of the band’s existence the band has

About the Prelude Implicit
The Prelude Implicit was the soundtrack for my run. It is Kansas’ fifteenth studio album. and is a wide-ranging progressive rock album released on InsideOut Music. Yes in addition to being one of the most recognized Classic Rock bands they are also recognized as a fine Progressive Rock band. They are considered Symphonic Prog. Final Thoughts on the The Prelude Implicit
As is typical most of my attention during the run was focused on just surviving the run, so somewhere along the run I lost track of the music. What kept me coming back to the music was David Ragsdale’s violin. It seems like the violin is at the center of almost all of the tracks.
I also liked the vocals throughout the album. “Refugee” was the one song that really caught my attention.I know I want to listen to it again!. Overall, I really liked the album and look forward to checking it out when I am not huffing and puffing!! /So Check It Out!
