Thursday Guitar – Scotty Anderson

ok so last night a Facebook friend, neighbor and owner of a very cute bulldog Michael Binnachio got to meet one of his heroes guitarist Johnny Hiland and listening to Johnny’s CD last night he is amazing. So tonight I decided to listen to an album that I haven’t listened to in a while but when I do I am in awe! The album is the 2001 release by Cincinnati guitarist Scotty Anderson. The album is titled Triple Stop and it is full of diverse and amazing guitar tracks! Anderson is one of the fastest pickers I have ever heard and from the opening track “Devilsh Mary” through “Boog’s Boogie”, and the jazzy “Artistry in Rhythm”,  “Grabbit” and “Nutville” both with some nice vibes, this album is just flat out good! There are some good reviews at Amazon.com and another one at About.com: Guitar and the later review can tell you more about the intricacies of Scotty’s playing, at least more than my wow!
