So I know us avid readers all have favorite authors. Those authors who you go right out and find and read their latest novel as soon as it is released, For me those authors include; James Lee Burke, C.J.Box and Karin Slaughter. You also have a set of authors whose books you really, really like but you may not get around to reading their books until after you’ve finished the new books from that top list. I myself have many authors that fall into that group. One of those authors is Charlie Donlea.
I always seem to miss the release of his latest book and then see it several months later and just love it! Such is the case with his latest Those Empty Eyes, The novel was released in March of 2023. However, supposed fan, me didn’t read it until November. Again, Charlie produced a fantastic read.
About Those Empty Eyes
Those Empty Eyes belong to Alexandra Quinlan. She got that nickname because that was how her eyes looked when she was taken from her home on the night her family was slaughtered. And she was the prime suspect. While the charges are soon dropped and Alexandra wins a massive settlement because of the way she was treated and the case was handled, Alexandra’s life is left in tatters. Because the killer was never found many thought Alexandra got away with murder! Alexander’s life takes many twists and turns as she attempts to live anonymously and find her family’s killer.
Through the years Alexandra maintains an evidence board of everything she’s uncovered concerning the murders. Can this lead her to the killer? Can her work as an investigator for the law firm that got her justice help here complete here quest? Read the book to find out!
