Thoughts About Blog Posts Past and Future

One of the things that my ADHD brain likes is seeking out things that are new and different. Novelty appeals to me! My kids always would joke that I always bought anything that said new on the box! If we went out to buy a snack cracker if there was one that said “new” on the box that one was coming home!

Thoughts About Past Blog Posts

Anyway, when I started to blog back in 2010, I was still working full time and my job took me locations around all of New Jersey delineating wetlands.  Therefore, it wasn’t uncommon to have an hour drive to a site and then an hour back.

Many days, I would load my music device up with several albums and listen to them on the trip. Then, when I came home I would scour the Internet for information about the band or artist and subsequently write about them.

Since I retired I don’t get to listen to new music in that fashion any more. To say nothing about not getting to go anywhere in 2020.  As a result those types of posts have fallen by the  wayside. I think it’s time to try and revive them!

See what I like to do is not write long drawn out blog posts about the music I listen to. I don’t like trying to discuss all the intricacies of each song. I actually don’t know that much about physically making the music. I only know what I like.

As a result, what I like to do is introduce the band or musician I’m writing about. Then write a little about the album. Maybe write about the hows whys about the album. Finally, I may discuss why I like the album and just tell the reader to check the album out and discover if they like them or not! I like to conclude the post with a sample of the artist’s work from either YouTube or Spotify!

Here’s an example of the type of blog post I like to write. It was written in 2013 about the band Trout steak Revival and their album Flight.

My Apologies for Missing My Target

Well, my ADHD brain has certainly gone off on a big tangent in this post but I do think it will help readers understand where I’m coming from

I actually intended to write this post about the band The Magic Beans. I have been listening to their 2018 release Casino Cabernet over the last several weeks and really enjoying it! But after that first paragraph I went off on a totally different tangent. Now I think it really wouldn’t be fair to make their post part of this post. So I will write about them tomorrow.

For now let’s listen to the title track from Casino Cabaret….
