Today in Music – Happy Birthday Guy Clark!

On this date in 1941 an artist whose songs have been part of  the soundtrack of my life since 1972 was born, Mr. GuyClark! I say his songs because I first heard his music through Jerry Jeff Walker and Tom Rush. The main song that has played on the cassette, cd and Mp3 player in my head is “LA Freeway” and to a lesser extent “Desperadoes Waiting for a Train” through the years other sons like “Boats to Build”, have been added. I never really picked up any of his albums until the last few years, when The Dark, Workbench Songs, Somedays the Song Writes You, and the live album Songs and Stories became part of my music library!

So Happy Birthday, Guy! Thanks for all the great music! Here’s the one that started it all for me – “LA Freeway”
