Tuesday Running Ramble to Flogging Molly!

Flogging Molly

So while I know that the weather has a lot to do with it, I do think I’ve crossed some kind of Rubicon in the last several runs. I’ve gone from a 60 year old jogger who is just trying to finish his four mile run, to a 60 year old runner who actually can pick it up over the last mile and finish with a little kick at the end! The last two runs have ended with the last mile being the fastest and my heartbeat being less than 100 after 3 to 5 minutes after stopping! Last night’s run was the second fastest over my Creek – out and back four mile course but the great thing is that I feel good through the whole run! So the next run will be at the track to see how I do with some intervals and one fast mile!

I had the iPod on schuffle and recently added last night and was ready to write down my playlist but you have been spared! I put on Michael ‘Connor’s new album Devil Stole the Moon to go to Target. Yes, Target pays me and then I give them back their money when I shop for groceries… It’s like I work for the company store!  Anyway, that wiped out my playlist I don’t remember any of the individual songs other than The Civil Wars covering Leonard Cohen! I do remember that there was a lot of bluegrass, some Gerry Joe Wiese and Jim McCarty blues!

So later in the night Kathy was watching the premiere of  this years Austin City Limits with Mumford and Sons and Flogging Molly. I don’t know why I don’t really like Mumford & Sons because all the elements are their I just don’t like his voice. Anyway I do love Flogging Molly here’s one of my favorites and a great way to start your day “Devil’s Dance Floor” I love the pennywhistle on this one it’s one of the instruments that makes Flogging Molly unique!!
