Updating a Busy Week, few posts….

but lots going on….

So this week has been a busy week, but one of the things that has been missing is running! My last run was on last Sunday!! Since then, I’ve missed one run due to the weather, two because I was pleasantly babysitting my grandson Oliver and the other days I didn’t have running shoes. My old ones got tossed and I haven’t made it to Sports Authority to buy new ones yet. Oh and then there was the day that one of our two nineteen year-old cats was hit by a car and we sadly had to put him to sleep. Anyway the bottom line is that I haven’t been running but I’ve been busy!. Hopefully, I will be able to run tomorrow!!

I have still been doing my morning yoga  though and on the days that I babysit Oliver and I go for two or four walks. On Wednesday, we went for walks of 1.4, 1.75, .60 (he went to sleep, yeah!) and 1.9 miles!! On Friday it was just two walks, but in the afternoon we visited the Animal Clinic where we had our cat put to sleep and saw the animals that they have outside. They have emus, goats, sheep, longhorn cattle and llama, pigs and more! Oliver was thrilled and while he is usually timid around animals when they come up to him, he was really brave with these animals!

I have also been listening to some good music on my trips to Paulsboro and various other locales! A couple of New Age albums have been in my rotation. They are the latest from German keyboardist Uwe Gronau Mystical Morning and illumination of the Heart from Deuter.

I have also been listening to a few new blues albums. The one that is playing right now is Buy My Soul Back from Kevin Selfe. Earlier this afternoon I was listening to Battle Scars from Walter Trout and Keep Coming Back from Mike Zito and the Wheel.

Oh, I forgot I also listened to Waiting n Swan from Neuvo flamenco guitarist Ottmar Liebert and Art &Soul the debut album from jazz saxophonist Kirsten Edkins.

On the reading front, I finished Signal by Patrick Lee and started Whistling Past the Graveyard from Susan Crandall and Dangerously Funny: The Uncensored Story of the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour written by David Bianculli.

I was all set to write about one of the albums this afternoon, but after starting work at 6 am and going strong until 1:30 when I got home I was beat. I ate drifted in and out of the Temple – Memphis football game after which we went shopping and while eating I watched the end of the LSU – Ole Miss game and now with Kevin Selfe providing the soundtrack I am watching Oklahoma State play Baylor!! Oh my I just switched over to the Sixers-Heat game and the Sixers are up by 14! Could they get their first win tonight!!!

Ok so now you know that I have been busy, and have been too worn out to write. Hopefully, tomorrow I can run and give one of those albums another listen and maybe even write about it! So until then give this six-pack of blues a listen. Two each from those three albums I have been listening to……as for me I am going to watch the Sixers and then probably crash!!
