So I took a trip back musically this afternoon and listened to some Jerry Jeff Walker. I listened to his 2012 album Live from Dixie‘s Bar & Bus Stop. The live set is composed of most my favorite JJW songs. Among those songs is Guy Clark’s “Desperados Waiting for a Train“. first heard this song way back in 1973, when it appeared on JJW’S 1973 album Viva Terlingua! Oh, what a difference a cloudy sky and a temperature that is a few degrees lower make on a morning run! I have been making it a habit to check the running conditions each night before a run. Last night the rating for this morning was an 8 out of 10 until after 10am. And the rating was correct! The beat thing was there was no bright sun beating down on me!

Yesterday, after I finished reading The Residence, I decided to go for a run rather than do my typical workout. I was doing pretty well running last year up until November. After November 8th I didn’t run again until March3rd. After that run it was another month until I ran again on April 15th.

Wes Montgomery and Robben Ford Provide a Day of Blues and Jazz
So yesterday’s random numbers were 3 and 5. Those numbers led me to one blues album from Robben Ford and the Blue Line and a jazz album from Wes Montgomery. The Robben Ford album is his 1995 release Handful of Blues. The Wes Montgomery album was Movin’ Wes, released in 1964 on the Verve label.A New Idea leads to Stevie Ray and Bill Morrissey
You know what they say- out of site out of mind. Over the last week or so I do believe they may be right.
Recently, I decided to take the CDs I like out of storage and put them on shelves in my room. Yes I know I can play them all on my iPod or I can stream them on Spotify, but there is something about seeing and holding an album or CD that feels good and right.
