So I made a trip to New Releases Now today and took a quick look at the new albums released today (March 23,2019). Among the albums released are three from artists who are favorites of mine. There are five more that I think I’ll also give a listen.
Lori Roy’s first novel Bent Road was published in 2011. In 2012 it won an Edgar Award for best first novel. Lori’s third book Let Me Die in His Footsteps was published in 2015. It won an Edgar for Best Novel in 2016. That win made Lori thee first woman to win An Edgar Allen Poe Award for both Best First Novel and Best Novel. She’s only the third person to do it overall!
Ok so I guess the best way to start over may just be to recap what has been happening over the last month or so. On e of the things that has kept me from posting is that my laptop keyboard wad not working properly. Several of the keys were not working including the y and r keys. You never know how many times you use a letter until it’s not there anymore. And believe me I use a lot of Rs and needing to use the on-screen keyboard each time you write an R is a pain. Anyway, a week or so ago I replaced the keyboard and now everything is working. So now what else has been happening.
So last night the soundtrack for my evening workout came from two sources. The first part of my workout was a 15 minute plus dance-cardio workout. The soundtrack was a portion of a playlist of music from The Doors, Jefferson Airplane and The Who.
I mentioned in the last post that I’ve been listening to a lot of music from my music library instead of new music. One of the reasons I’m doing that is I now have my electronic equipment situated so I can play music from just about every media that I have. I now have connected to my receiver the following: an Ion turntable for my vinyl, a five disc CD player, my iPod and a small cassette tape player.

OK so over the last month or so I have had a hard time making myself write a post. I have started several posts only to get distracted, I then leave the post and find reasons not to finish it. It’s not like I’ve fallen off the “{Better Next Year” wagon.I’m still moving forward and actually doing well! For example, my weight has been fluctuating right around my 2018 goal weight since October. I have been eating well since then also.
So the question of the evening is should I write a post about today’s run or read some in one of the three books I am currently reading. Pondering on it the first thought that comes to mind is that my 4 mile run today was not all that exciting. My pace over the course of the run was 10:04. A little slower than my last few runs but still pretty good.
Well I didn’t do badly in writing in January, it over the last week I have been slipping behind. Here’s a short post to try to catch up a little.
Yesterday, I finished my second read for February. It was Eighteen Below by Stefan Ahnhem. It is the third book in the Fabian Risk series. I read books one and two Victim without a Face and The Ninth Grave In 2018. The series has quickly become one of my favorites.
Here are the book I read in January of 2019. They certainly have gotten my reading year off to a great start!
The she that is riding shotgun is young Polly McCluskey .And she’s riding shotgun with her father Nate McCluskey. Nate is just getting out of prison when he runs afoul of the leader of the Aryan Brotherhood. The leader put out a green light on his murder . That puts everyone he cares for including his ex-wife and daughter Polly in danger.
