Okay, it is now August 6th and I still haven’t recapped the books I finished in July or provided an update on my Reading Challenges.. So, I hope to do just that with this post.. I read five books in July, which brings the total number of books that I have read in 2017 to 33. That leaves me about 2 books off the pace I need to maintain to reach my very high goal of reading 60 books in 2017.
Four of five of the books read were books in a series that I have read. One The Killing Season is the first book in a series that is new to me. The other was a very good self-help book.

My Proposed August Reads:
Now let’s get to my proposed August Reads. I should let you know that this list may potentially change quite quickly. The reason is that I have requested to books from the library from two authors that are favorites. The first is the latest for Michael Robotham The Secrets She Keeps and the second is Paradise Valley C.J Box’s latest. I am next in line for the Robotham book and 5th in line for the Box book!
With that said – here are the initial four books I plan to read in August.
A Fool For A Client – Parnell Hall –
After reading A Puzzle to Be Name Later Hall’s latest Puzzle Lady book, I discovered a book from his Stanley Hastings’ series that I haven’t read yet. In this book, a young woman is found dead in her apartment. The prime suspect is Richard Rosenberg, who just happens to be Stanley’s boss.So Stanley sets out to find out what really happened. The Stanley Hastings book are always a good time! They’re full of snappy, funny dialogue!
The Samaritan – Mason Cross (Carter Blake #2)
In this episode Carter heads to Los Angeles to help catch a serial killer, who targets women in distress. Since I just started reading the book I haven’t reached the point where the story has really hooks me yet. But I know it’s coming!! Well, at least I hope it is!
Okay so I have started reading both of the above books. I may well, be able to finish one or both of them before I read either of the two books I’ve requested from the library. My three other projected reads. are as follows…..
Every Night I Dream of Hell – Malcolm Mackay –
