Okay, it is now August 6th and I still haven’t recapped the books I finished in July or provided an update on my Reading Challenges.. So, I hope to do just that with this post.. I read five books in July, which brings the total number of books that I have read in 2017 to 33. That leaves me about 2 books off the pace I need to maintain to reach my very high goal of reading 60 books in 2017.

As the month comes to an end it’s time for a reading recap and update. Yesterday I finished reading Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried which is the fourth book I’ve finished in February. Previously I finished The Promise of a Pencil, Throne of Glass and Revelation Space. The Things They Carried had been on my TBR pile so it counts toward my goal on the TBR Pile Challenge and since it is about the Vietnam War it counts toward the 2015 Historical Fiction Challenge.
